On Sabbath, January 18, 2020, Laurelbrook’s Sabbath services began with a song service led by Essence (freshmen) and Yzzynne (sophomore), accompanied on the piano by Jacqueline Miller.  The opening song was “Marching to Zion.”

Heissel (senior) welcomed everyone and showed a video clip of people in pain. Mark (senior) had prayer and read the scripture reading Psalm 137:7-8 “7 ¶ Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase [it], rase [it, even] to the foundation thereof. 8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy [shall he be], that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.”

Maria (senior) read a story from Bulgaria about possible help from an angel. Leon and Naythan (sophomores) collected the Laurelbrook Missions Offering.  Daphne and Eldric sang a vocal duet Heissel had a theme talk about “Home in the Moon.” ad the closing prayer.. The congregation divided into three Sabbath School classes, a class in the main church sanctuary taught by James Brenneman.

Some notes on the talk:

  1. Daphne kept emphasizing how light her back pack was.
  2. We need to keep our eyes on our goal, according to Machael.
