Sabbath School on September 1, 2018 began with a song service led by Pedro Arce, accompanied by his daughter Samantha on the piano. The opening song was “Holy, Holy, is What the Angels Sing”.
Brenda Herra welcomed everyone and had prayer. Rodney Herra had prayer and read the scripture reading – Psalm 91:1 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Brenda Herra announced that her theme was “Angels”.
Heissel (junior) read a mission story from Angola. She then called for the Laurelbrook Missions Offering, which was collected by Jakob (junior) and Michael (senior) and which goes to support Laurelbrook mission trips. Lisha Westcott sang a vocal solo, accompanying herself on the guitar.
Brenda Herra had the theme talk on “Angels”. Brenda Herra had the closing prayer and explained the classes. Clifton Brandt led the lesson study in the main sanctuary, and Bob and Michelle Gustafson in the CNA House, and Joubert Pierre “behind the glass”.
Following are a few notes from the presentation:
- One time Brenda had to go to Ohio to see her mother. The car went sideways in snow in front of a semi, but suddenly the car was directed to the shoulder.
- She then read a story of a person lost in Lancaster, PA. She happened into a closed gas station and met a couple who directed them in the right direction. The couple knew many of their trip details and disappeared right after giving them directions. Angels?
