The Sabbath services on August 25, 2018 began with a song service led by Rebecca Nowdesha, accompanied by Jacqueline Miller on the piano. The opening song was “A Mighty Fortress”.
Samantha (junior) welcomed everyone, and Kaydence (9th grader) had prayer. Lindsay (sophomore) read the scripture reading.
Leilani (junior) read the mission story. She then called for the Laurelbrook Missions Offering, which was collected by Vanessa (junior) and Dapfa (junior) and which goes to support Laurelbrook mission trips. Dapfa and Yzzynne (9th grader) sang a vocal duet, accompanied by Samantha on the piano.
Kaydence, Yzznne, Samantha, and Leilani put on a skit. Leilani had the closing prayer and explained the classes. James Brenneman led the lesson study in the main sanctuary, Rich Sutton the class “behind the glass” in the rear of the church sanctuary.
It should be noted that the church sound system was not working well. It is possible that an electrical outage and storm a few days ago harmed the system. Also the boys were away on their purity weekend.
