On Sabbath, January 18, 2020, Laurelbrook’s Sabbath services began with a song service led by Essence (freshmen) and Yzzynne (sophomore), accompanied on the piano by Jacqueline Miller. The opening song was “Marching to Zion.”
Heissel (senior) welcomed everyone and showed a video clip of people in pain. Mark (senior) had prayer and read the scripture reading Psalm 137:7-8 “7 ¶ Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase [it], rase [it, even] to the foundation thereof. 8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy [shall he be], that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.”
Maria (senior) read a story from Bulgaria about possible help from an angel. Leon and Naythan (sophomores) collected the Laurelbrook Missions Offering. Daphne and Eldric sang a vocal duet; Heissel had a theme talk about “Home in the Moon.” She then had the closing prayer. The congregation divided into three Sabbath School classes, one class in the main church sanctuary taught by James Brenneman.
